Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Build and maintain financial reports and data models that give leadership clear visibility into company performance.
  • Continuously monitor, report, and forecast key financial indicators including cash flow, revenue, and ARR.  Translate findings into actionable pricing suggestions and strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct client retention analysis to identify trends, churn risks, and growth opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Analyze corporate insurance claims data to monitor trends, forecast self-funded plan costs, and surface insights that support benefits budgeting and risk management decisions.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting on open/closed claims, reconciliation status, outstanding risks, and KPIs, flagging significant deviations.
  • Assist with reporting activities, prepare ad hoc financial reports and research as needed.

Data Analysis & Business Improvement
  • Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze financial data from our systems to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
  • Maintain data integrity across financial systems, ensuring stakeholders can trust and easily access accurate information.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, design solutions, and work with cross-functional teams to implement them.
  • Build and maintain financial data models and databases; troubleshoot data quality issues as they arise.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on systems driving financial transactions; collaborate with IT to design, test, and implement accounting and payroll tax initiatives.
Audit & Compliance
  • Assist in financial audit processes including 401(k) audits, financial audits, ACH audits, and PEP audits.
  • Support SOC I and SOC II audit processes by gathering documentation, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring controls are operating effectively.
Core Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role  within a software startup or tech-driven environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills; comfortable writing complex queries to extract and transform financial data.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling and large datasets.
  • Sound understanding of finance including revenue streams, expenses, cash flows, and capital.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret high volumes of data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Detail-oriented, process improvement mindset — you don't just find problems, you fix them.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to leadership and influence decision-making.
  • Self-starter who manages time effectively.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ARR analysis and SaaS financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with relational database development and administration.
  • Passion for automation and building scalable processes.
  • Experience with audit processes (SOC I/II, 401(k), financial, ACH, PEP).
